Structural glass fibre fabrics and non-woven materials
Structural glass fabrics and fibreglass strips, made from E-type aluminoborosilicate glass fibre, are used for thermal insulation in various industries. They are essential in the production of glass plastics and are used in car parts, boats, aircraft, chemical tanks, sports equipment, etc. Varied weave patterns provide options based on properties, economy and flexibility.
Features:
- Stability: Fibreglass is a stable engineering material. Fibreglass does not stretch or shrink at very high or low temperatures. Maximum tensile strength before breakage is up to 4.8%;
- Does not absorb moisture, does not change physically or chemically when in contact with water;
- High strength-to-weight ratio;
- Fire resistance: Materials made of fibreglass do not ignite, are non-combustible and maintain approximately 25% of their original strength at 540°C;
- Have excellent corrosion properties, high chemical resistance, anti-magnetic and dielectric properties, and interact well with epoxy and polyester resins;
- Working temperature from -200°C to +550°C;
- Good thermal conductivity;
- Density: 0.18 g/cm³.
Applications:
Fibreglass fabric is the best choice for pipes, flanges and valve covers, expansion joints and heat shield insulation. It is also used in the production of generic and non-standard size welded cover and furnace linings, as well as in the production of emergency fire and rescue blankets.
